another trip

Over the weekend my family and I holiday-ed in Cameron Highlands... nothing much to do,. but chill, sleep and eat.

Let's talk about my favs snacks. They are ... Preserved guava. The whole fruit (not skinned either) itself is preserved, and then packed in 2-s for sale. RM10 per pack. Equivalent to RM5 for one guava. Expensive!, right? At once glance, it does not look like a guava, it has smooth exterior and very round. Unlike normal guavas full with craters skin, this one is disguised in a bursting-like (mini) balloons due to hypotoniclalalalalala. The taste of it is not similar to any other preserved fruit - it's crunchy, so crunchynotsoggy-crunchy, like a fresh guava, but with a tinge of sourness in it - which I love. Also comes with a small pack of assam powder. (no pics)

The next item is "jagung mutiara" / "zan zhu pau suk"(haha my canto pinyin sucks)..
you can eat them fresh, original form, no cooking whatsoever required.
Sweet and juicy.

But you need to heed the instructions > 1. Peel the skin and the misai-misai
2. Make sure there is no excess misai-misai
3. Chomp away
-end-

But I like it bakar-style (barbecued) - selling for RM3 each tongkol. Again, expensive! Mami bought more than a few (fresh ones), so it's cheaper. More like a whole bag. Hahahaa.

Last but the best. In terms of monetary and taste. Non other than home made ice-cream!

(NOTE : ANYONE GOING CAMERON AGAIN,
PLSsssssssss TA PAU FOR ME.

ICE CREAM MAN - CHINESE FELLA)

gosh, let me tell you it's just so super delicious. I can't find a better word to describe it fully because delicious don't do it justice. I swear I wanted to hijack his motorcycle stall. A wide range of flavors - 20 over/less/more... From strawberry (you'll see lots of strawberry-anything in CH), vanilla, chocolate, rum&raisin etc. The usual to extraordinary black beer flavor. rm1 for a scoop and 1.50 for 2. Talk about little things that matters.

Guess what flavor i chose?

Lavender
Glad it wasn't as high-flavored as I imagined it would taste like,.. so.. NO, it didn't taste like body shampoo. Delicious. Home made ice-cream is indeed very different, and much tastier. Thinking back, I can still feel the rich texture in my mouth.

Random pics.

my toes reminds me of my late-PoPo
What else bout the trip? I dreaded shower time because of the cold cold water. Surprisingly for me to discover, because I liked it, even in Genting. I think it's the age thing. I procrastinated until it was past midnight. But, of course I showered in the end. Bad idea. Not very smart. From the moment I'm done with it to grasping my towel within an arm's length, which is like a split second, I completely froze. But, I don't mind another trip to Strawberryland.
