fabricated lives

I find it extremely tormenting to watch love stories on TV. With all the added drama and evil character. Can’t it be more straightforward? There will never be an effortless relationship. At least one of them had to be tortured (not physically), throw in some betrayal, twist of events, baddies.

There are 3 dramas I am kind of watching. I have not finished started it yet. I am perpetually busy, doing nothing/god-knows-what. And there’s only one TV at home now.
Someone please help me fix the other one.

Story one: Boy meets girl. She is blind. They fall in love. Grew up together. One day she had to leave him. They try to keep in touch with the distance between them. Twist of events + baddies = they lose contact. Girl meets guy #2, who fall for her at first sight. Rich guy. Her eyes cured. Twist of events alert!! Guy #2 is buddies with boy. Boy sees his true love in the arms of another. But she does not know it’s him.

I’ve watch up to here. When I shall continue, I do not know. But I do know, they did end up together but then………. Spoiler warning! He died in the end.

Story two: Boy meets girl. She is deaf. He had to leave her. They changed contacts. They grew up. Girl meets boy – not knowing who he is. Hates each other. Each of them has another person who loves them dearly, but somehow detached to that love given, they still pines to that childhood dream. They become friends. Guy has cancer. He hurts her by telling he liked her at all, when he is falling deeper and deeper in love with her.

You would have guessed by now that both stories are Asian made. They never fail to put in disability, family saga, childhood memories. Some secret code/meeting place/necklace/….

Story three: Boy likes girl. Girl seeing someone. Girl’s best friend likes boy. Boy end up with best friend. Boy kiss girl. Best friend felt betrayed. Break up is inevitable. Boy realized he loves best friend. ……… blah blah blah… endless cycle of a triangle pentagon octagon love.

Nope! Not telling you which series.

There are times when these shows do not have a happy ending. An ending more close to our imperfect lives where there is reality that actually sets in. If it’s not to my liking I won’t watch.
It is entertainment, after all.

I always wanted to skip the part where hearts get lost, hearts get broken. It’s too stupid, for the events that led them to it. And of course, it’s too heart wrenching.

Back to HEROES.
